Dear Dummies,
Welcome to the official online launch of DUM DUM, a spankin’ new zine based out of Los Angeles, CA. We  feature hybrid forms of fiction, journalism, art, design, and any sort of transmedia story you can think of.
You may have picked up our print issue, a gorgeous 17×22 broadside on newsprint, which debuted last month at the Chicago Printers’ Ball. If you missed us there, visit our online STORE to purchase a copy, or head over to Skylight Books in LA or Quimby’s Bookstore in Chicago. Check out the ISSUES page to preview the print edition.
Featured this week on DUM DUM:
- SEX FACE, a seriously beautiful Postmodern poem about postmodernity
- A postcard interview with Dayve Hawk of MEMORY TAPES
- How to Leave Cities, a sardonic yet ultimately uplifting elegy about city-dwelling and city-leaving
- Text message interviews by contributor Bryxan Amsterdam
- A conversation between a man and a woman at Peet’s Coffee and Tea
- Hechos Violentos, a video poem taking the form of scrolling end-credits
- So much more. Seriously.
Check back at this blog to keep abreast of DUM DUM event announcements, additions to our ongoing snail mail features, new comic strips, but most importantly: collaborative prompts.
Please note: while we are a quarterly, deadlines for the web are rolling and selected submissions will be published periodically throughout the week. Hit us up anytime with your ideas at dumdumzine@gmail.com.
All of my <3,
Taleen Kalenderian
