Worded madness. Mad lit and mad libs. Telephone and literary free association. Salon- style lounging on Persian rugs while literature unfolds at your feet. Welcome to the Literary Carnival III, where nothing is quite as seems.

In celebration of their anticipated experimental Book III, theNewerYork press has undertaken an epic event project that takes words from the page to the stage. Their approach to literature is actively attempting to dissolve the concept of normalcy in contemporary publications by encouraging the weird and different–something us Dummies can get fully behind. At their 3rd carnival this Saturday, theNewerYork will encourage writers and readers to unpack the usual approaches to “writing” through games, Rorschach tests, caricatures, flash fiction, on-the-spot-poems and plenty of public interaction.  Just as with any experiment, what you get will not always look or sound like what you put in but something there will move you.

The actors and performers include, Jesse Goldwater, Andrew Landsman, Bri Giger, David Beach, Michelle Seipp, Suzanne Oshinsky, Michelle Favin and theNewerYork editor Joshua Raab.

GET WEIRD with theNewerYork this Saturday, August 24th, 2013 at The Lyric Hyperion Theater and Cafe Los Angeles. Carnival time is at 7:45pm, and the show starts at 9pm.
