For the second installment of DUM DUM Zine’s “Tour of L.A.” free literary workshopping, Grow Your Words was the most free-form of them all. We met by the L.A. River on a sunny Saturday afternoon and began to smear patches of moss in the shape of sentences–a veritable performance of plant graffiti, which turned out to be a wonderful study. Automatic writing was done on newsprint. DUM DUM Editor Liska Jacobs and designer Jordan Bryant even made seed bombs with these awesome coffee bags from Groundwork. We can’t wait to grow our words again in a more desolate patch of the river–we’re thinking a full on poem. Any suggestions?
