The Women of Rock Oral History Project, brainchild of archivist & curator Tanya Pearson, documents the overlooked stories of women, trans, and gender non-conforming artists who are vital parts of rock and roll history.

Last month on June 22nd, WOHOHP created space on the stage for some of these influential artists to show off their work. Hosted at Zebulon Café, the night included Patty Schemel pulling double duty in Carla Bozulich’s Bloody Claws and Death Valley Girls, The ‘B’ Girls performing in L.A. for the first time since ‘78, a set by Kamala & the Karnivores (featuring Michelle Gonzales of Spitboy), spoken word by Lydia Lunch, and DJ sets by Neon Music.

DUM DUM was there to catch this night of living rock history. Check out our photo coverage below!

No-wave legend Lydia Lunch commands the room with her spoken word.

Carla Bozulich brandishes her proverbial claws with her ominous, lurching noise punk.

The ‘B’ Girls pick up right where they left off and give the night a 70’s NYC vibe.

DJ Neon Music spun #DUMjams throughout the night, like Hole’s cover of “Over the Edge” by the Wipers.

Death Valley Girls close out the night with their furious and explosive sound.
