closest to you—“If I had
dogs, I would
beat them, thenTell them I’m
sorry—Give them
treats and kissesBut the difference
between dogs and
people, is noMatter how much
you beat a
dog, he willStay—A person
will eventually bite
back and leave

nauseous summer
certainly proves itI broke down
in a cemetery—
with empty pocketsWith nothing
and nothing
